IT'S CHINESE NEW YEAR AND THE YEAR OF THE TIGER!

Thought to date back to the 14th century, Chinese New Year is also known as Lunar New Year or Spring Festival and is a key event in the Chinese calendar. The date of Chinese New Year changes each year, but always falls between January 21st and February 20th. It is decided by the Chinese Lunar Calendar, which is based on cycles of the moon and sun and is generally 21–51 days behind the Gregorian (internationally-used) calendar. The celebrations start on February 1st and finish on 15th February with the Lantern Festival.

Each Chinese New Year is characterised by one of 12 animals from the Chinese zodiac: The Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig, with 2022 being the year of the water tiger.

Previous years of the tiger include 2010, 1998, 1986, 1974, 1962, 1950 and people born in this year are said to have the characteristics of enthusiasm, courage, ambition, leadership, confidence, and charisma.

It is claimed that Tigers may face many challenges in encountering their birth sign year, whereas those born the year of the Ox or The Goat will have the best luck in 2022, followed closely by the Dragon, Rooster, Horse and Rabbit.
